Robber shot to death during robbery

Wayne County, KENTUCKY - A 20-year-old Wayne County man was fatally shot by a woman whose house he tried to rob Wednesday.

Joyce Johnson, 45, also of Wayne County, fired one shot to kill Bart White at 5:26 p.m. in her Stringer Ridge subdivision home, said Wayne County Sheriff Jim Hill.

White had previously been charged with theft, Hill said.

Johnson shot White in self-defense, but a report will be submitted to the commonwealth attorney's office in accordance with state regulations, Hill said.
