CCW Holder Thwarts Attack
Fight may have been racially motivated
Julie McCormick

EAST BREMERTON - A black man was waiting for his girlfriend to get off work at Oh! Gallagher's Sports Pub and Grill late Tuesday when he was insulted and challenged by a young, drunk patron who used racial epithets, witnesses told deputies.

Two of the aggressor's friends joined him and the black man soon found himself in a fight with three men.

A bouncer sent the altercation outside.

The original instigator went to his car to get his pit bull to sic on the black man, who pulled a handgun from his car to use against the dog.

By the time deputies arrived, things had calmed down, the black man was found to have a permit to carry the gun and declined to press charges, deputies reported.

No one was injured and no one was arrested.
