Ohio CCW Hearings
Make Your Voice Heard!

May 22nd, 4:00pm

This is what we have been waiting for since May of 1999. Please take the time to attend this meeting even if just to fill a seat in the room. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated. Bring as many friends and family as you can.

Ohioans For Concealed Carry is proud to announce that Representative Tom Brinkman's legislation, which has passed the introduction and sponsor testimony stages, is now scheduled to be on the agenda for PROPONENT TESTIMONY in the Criminal Justice Committee NEXT WEEK.

Members of the OFCC ccw-talk list are encouraged to car-pool if possible to help off set gas and parking costs.

Please see the bottom of this message for special testimony instructions.

DATE: Tuesday May 29th, 2001 (next week)

TIME: CJC hearings start at 2pm. Plan to arrive earlier to get a seat and introduce yourself to other OFCC membership and supporters. Many of us will be there by at least 1:30pm. At this time we have no idea where on the agenda this issue will be. Many of us may meet somewhere after this meeting to get something to drink and eat.

WHERE: CJC hearings are typically located in ROOM 114 of the capitol. Ask at any information booth for directions to the Criminal Justice Committee hearing room.

PARKING: Parking can typically be found under the capitol, however if you can't find a space (the signs will flash FULL) you should proceed to the mall just south of the capitol and park in that garage. (It's slightly more expensive). Arrive early in case you need to walk from the parking garage to the capitol.

BLUE SHIRTS WILL PROBABLY BE AVAILABLE AT THIS MEETING FOR $22 IN CASH. THESE OFCC SHIRTS HELP YOU STAND OUT IN THE CROWD AND TELL THE CJC EXACTLY WHAT ORGANIZATION YOU"RE WITH. IF YOU ALREADY OWN ONE PLEASE BE SURE TO WEAR IT AT THIS MEETING. IF YOU DO NOT OWN A OFCC DENIM SHIRT PLEASE COME DRESSED APPROPRIATELY.

TESTIMONY REQUEST:

The sponsor of HB225 (Rep. Tom Brinkman Jr.) has offered to limit testimony on behalf of this bill as much as humanly possible. Therefor, we would like to request that those of you who do show up do so primarily to fill a chair and wear an OFCC denim shirt. However, if you are interested in speaking we ask that you get in touch with us (info@ofcc.net) in advance. The goal is to prevent duplicate testimony or false information being included in your testimony.

We are especially interested in police officers, both current and retired; police chiefs; sheriffs; educators; doctors/nurses; clergy; and minorities -- when the other side testifies, they like to speak as if they represent these groups entirely. If you fit the bill and wish to speak on behalf of HB225 please contact us at info@ofcc.net

Please distribute this post to every other pro-gun and/or pro-ccw web site, discussion list, etc where appropriate.
