Let Wal-Mart Know What You Think
Time to jump on this
one, folks! Wal-Mart has agreed under pressure from Million Moron March Moms
and other hoplophobes NOT to sell guns at a new store in Tampa because it's
"near" a high school! If they knuckle under because they haven't
heard from the average Joes and Jills who support them then this could
spread nation-wide! Call this number and give them a (polite) readout of how
you feel on the subject and let them know that we expect them not to knuckle
under to the flakes - Charles.
Thoughts on the Million
Mom March Convention in Denver
The first Million Mom
March National Convention took place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, in Denver
Colorado on Friday September 15th and Saturday, September 16th. What we saw
and what we learned opened our eyes wide to the enormous threat that we are
facing from those who would trash the Bill Of Rights and take away our guns,
in the name of "protecting the children".

The
Utter Failure of British Gun Control
One in three criminals under
the age of 25 owns or has access to a firearm, the Government's researchers
have discovered.
A continuing parliamentary inquiry into the growing number of black market
weapons has concluded that there are more than three million illegally held
firearms in circulation - double the number believed to have been held 10
years ago - and that criminals are more willing than ever to use them.

Ex-officer:
Police want concealed weapons
Former Cincinnati
police Lt. Harry Thomas told a pro-gun rally Sunday that police officials
are telling ''outrageous lies'' when they say they oppose people carrying
concealed weapons. ''The more good guys
there are out there with guns, the safer everybody is, including police
officers,'' Thomas told 100 cheering people at Fountain Square downtown.
Greater
Gun Use Puts Bystanders in the
Line of Fire
A
shooting incident Monday involving more than 10 armed gang members,
who attacked the office of a right-wing organization in central Tokyo,
killing two people and wounding five others, showed that guns are now
becoming more of a threat to the lives of ordinary citizens. However,
although the number of guns in the possession of gangs is believed to
have increased in recent years, police have been confiscating fewer
firearms. This
indicates that current efforts to prevent guns and other weapons from
falling into the hands of the underworld organizations are
ineffective.
DINGELL
TO RENO -- WHY WON'T YOU PROSECUTE CRIMINALS?
On Tuesday, U.S.
Representative John Dingell (D-Mich.) sent a letter to Attorney
General Janet Reno asking "why the Department of Justice is not
doing more to prosecute" individuals who violate federal law
prohibiting them from obtaining firearms. Dingell, who has been one of
the strongest supporters of our Right to Keep and Bear Arms since he
was first elected to Congress in 1954, was prompted to raise questions
regarding the lack of these federal prosecutions by Bureau of Justice
Statistics (BJS) reports on Federal Firearm Offenders and Background
Check for Firearm Transfers, both of which were released in June.

Crime Figures Seriously Under-reported
American
anti-gun lobbyists have long argued that if America followed Britain's
lead in severely restricting firearms possession and self-defense,
then American crime rates would eventually match Britain's. The
lobbyists have also argued that if guns were restricted in America,
civil liberties in the U.S. would have the same degree of protection
that they have in Britain. The lobbyists are absolutely
right.

Goal:

A hairdresser, a personal

them carry guns on the job. All four are part of a Hamilton County lawsuit that
was filed Monday in hopes of overturning Ohio's concealed weapons law. The
lawsuit argues that the law is unconstitutional because it does not distinguish
between criminals and people who carry guns for their own protection.
"We're trying to get the attention of the state legislature," said
Chuck Klein, a Cincinnati private investigator who is part of the lawsuit.
